As many of you already know, I have been back in Tokyo for several days now and we've already started our trainings this year. Just yesterday, we went to the headquater of KDDI, a major cellphone company. Their cellphone service provider called "au", is one of our sponsors and we'll participate in the promotions of their new services called "Karada (means Body) manager" and "Run&Walk".

Basically, your cellphone will become your personal trainer. You can type in your age, height, weight, daily activities, and your phone will tell you how much calories you should intake for your ideal body. You can type in what you ate or plan to eat, and your phone will tell you how much your nutrition is over or under your ideal balance. And get this. You can go walk or run anywhere in Japan, your phone will pick up GPS and tell you how many miles you walked/ran, how fast you went, and how many calories you burned. Amazing technology...
I'm excited as I'm one of five finalists who will actively use this product and report our findings which will be used for their promotions.

Ok back to the make-up lesson talk! My counsin, Miwa, who is two years younger than me has the best life style I can possibly imagine! Miwa went over to Australia after high school where she got licensed as a scuba diver. She has been teaching scuba diving to tourists and others in Australia, while she studies to get her degree in Marine biology. When school is out, she travels to resorts/islands, works as a scuba diving teacher and participates in marine reseaches. Absolutely amazing life! I remember getting sooo jealous when I'd read emails and see pictures of her daily lives, while I was sitting in my cube all day.
But for the first time in years, she's back in Tokyo for a few months. And for the first time in life, she had decided she wants to learn how to put make-up! I guess diving in ocean for a living can quite keep you from wearing make-up regularly. Even before she moved to Australia, she was a hard-core athlete playing tennis everyday, which also contributed to her not wearing make-up regularly.
So when she asked me to be her make-up teacher, I said of course! I was actually really happy as I can apply what I learned in this Miss Japan competition to help others. She came over to my house today with her friend, who also doesn't know much about make-up, and we just had so much fun!
Picture above is before the make-over.

I did a step-by-step lesson like the MAC make-up lesson we had before Christmas. I started with foundation, eye brows, then eye make-up, cheeks, lips... the whole thing ended being for about three hours long!
Now let me show you what these girls looked like after the make-over...

They looked absolutely gorgeous!
They seemed very surprised and happy with the results too.

Taking picture of each other.
I was soo happy with the results too. Make-up is not to cover your flaws but to bring out your stronger features and to flatter them. They were rather shocked by the results at first but over time, I could see them being more confident than they were before. Sooo happy for them. It was a great experiment and I'd LOVE to do this again!
